About Me

Small Town Guy of Collyer

Hello, and welcome to my blog collyerks. My name is Keith and I was born and raised in Collyer, Kansas – a small town of just a little over 100 residents (109 according to the 2010 census!). As tends to be the case in a small town like Collyer, I had to venture out into the big wide world, or at least out of our little hometown, to pursue a higher education when the time came to end my compulsory school years. I also enjoy travelling to some of the amazing places around the country that I’ve read about and I’ve had a great time doing so.

Collyerks is my personal blog and is the place where I record some of my adventures in travel and education outside my little town of Collyer. I like to draw some observations about what it’s like to experience the larger world through the eyes of a small town guy. Also, as a student of history and society, I enjoy pondering about the emergence and disappearance of our great country’s small towns, about their values, and about their shortcomings and advantages as I’ve experienced them in my own life. As is the case with most people who choose to write a blog, collyerks is also a place for me to mark down some of the more significant shifts in my life for remembering later on.
